What a beautiful image! The flower background, the different shades of green and the lighting make the subject interesting. I also looked at your other photos, and they're great! I love butterflies and some insects. You have captured them wonderfully. By the way, thanks for visiting my site, for commenting and for following my blog. Much appreciated.
Amazing picture! What kind of spider is that? I live in Florida also---is this a "banana" spider? They really creep me out. Can't believe you got such a good shot of it!
It's a garden spider, but is kinda similar looking to a banana spider. Here are some facts you may find interesting: The female garden spider builds the large circular web (about two feet across) and the male builds the thick zig-zag part of the web (which you can see in my picture). Every night, they will eat their web and build a new one. The web of a banana spider (AKA golden silk spider) can be very big - up to 12 feet across. The yellow silk of sunlit webs shine like gold, and the silk is said to surpass the strength of Kevlar, a fiber used in bulletproof vests.

I love that spider's web - notice the great zig-zag stitch he makes.
